Position Summary

We are seeking a patient-focused, medically oriented Optometrist (OD) to join our Newark office. This role works collaboratively with ophthalmologists and clinical staff to deliver high-quality comprehensive eye care, ocular disease management, and surgical co-management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations for adult and pediatric patients
• Diagnose and manage ocular disease including glaucoma, dry eye, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for cataract surgery and YAG laser capsulotomy
• Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and medical treatments as indicated
• Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists for referrals and co-management
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care
• Adhere to clinical protocols, quality standards, and HIPAA regulations

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school
• Active Delaware optometry license or ability to obtain
• Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent (TPA) certification required
• Strong medical optometry and patient communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment
